Conservative author and commentator Candace Owens was denied medical attention in the form of a coronavirus test by a Colorado lab because of her political beliefs, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson reported Thursday.

Owens was sent a letter by Aspen Laboratories co-founder Suzanna Lee, informing her that her “reservation” was canceled and that she would be “denied service” due to both her dislike of government face mask mandates and of his analysis of the effectiveness of vaccination injections.

“We cannot support anyone who has worked proactively to make this pandemic worse by spreading misinformation, politicizing and discouraging the wearing of masks, and actively dissuading people from receiving life-saving vaccines,” Lee wrote in the obtained letter. by “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Carlson noted that it’s not unusual for Americans of certain political affiliations to be “isolated, punished and denied services” – but that this is likely one of the first such cases where a US citizen is denied medical treatment on this basis.

“It doesn’t look like America,” he said, introducing Owens to the program.

Owens said she didn’t actually want to be tested for coronavirus but due to the sudden government restrictions on “bodily autonomy” she had to undergo routine testing to be able to engage in normal activities.

“First and foremost, I wish I didn’t have to take a COVID test, but like you mentioned in your previous segment – it’s one of the only ways to maintain your bodily autonomy right now and they say if you do If you don’t get vaccinated you need a COVID test to get around If you go to an event you need a negative COVID test if you want to leave the country or fly,” she said.

“So I have to perpetually have to get tested to prove I’m negative,” Owens said, noting that she’s traveled to three countries and 23 states over the past two years for work and play.

Owens added that Lee’s denial of services raises the question of the rhetoric of people like her who say it’s “an unvaccinated pandemic.”

“If this is a real deadly virus – if the unvaccinated are the people who are causing this pandemic, people like me … and you really believe in it, why would you stop someone from Complying with local COVID measures and trying to get tested and do the right thing?

Such behavior “defies science [they] statement is so true,” Owens said.

Carlson noted that there are laws prohibiting doctors from denying medical care to illegal immigrants or people who show up to emergency rooms without insurance — but that somehow a U.S. citizen who has chosen to not getting the COVID vaccine can suddenly be denied the same medical care.

“Is it legal? ” He asked.

“It’s not a health issue anymore, it’s a policy issue,” Owens replied. “These people are sadists, they’re sadists. They like to manipulate you, they like control. They don’t care about public health. It’s a public health crisis, she’d be like ‘you know what I hate Candace Owen but of course she’s in my town, I’m going to give her a test and make sure she’s not infecting anyone else.'”

Carlson said Owens was basically lectured for not caring enough, but she was denied a coronavirus test she sought to take to show she did indeed care about laws and regulations. local policies.

“You can’t take a COVID test and you can’t have a credit card,” Carlson added. “It’s getting really, really dark and I hope the Republican members of Congress who still have power will stand up for their constituents.”
