Downham Complimentary Health Clinic expands with female alternative medicine doctors

Downham Complimentary Health Clinic has expanded its team to include two women who are leading the way in West Norfolk’s alternative medicine scene.

Based on Lynn Road in Downham, the 22-year-old clinic offers alternative medical treatments and therapies including osteopathy, acupuncture, soft tissue therapy and podiatry, its team has grown

Joining the team is clinical psychologist and licensed psychologist, Dr. Louise Askew, who offers a wide range of therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy).

Dr Askew, who is currently the only female practitioner with a private clinic in West Norfolk who is able to offer EMDR, said: “EMDR is an effective therapy for people dealing with emotional distress related to a previous traumatic experience. treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and has been shown to be effective in treating many other psychological difficulties. I am really delighted to join the team of and to meet new patients

Other team members at the clinic include naturopath and herbalist Dr. Vera Martins, who specializes in hormonal balance using a combination of nutrition, herbal medicine and lifestyle changes, to help women to feel better.

Dr Martins said: ‘Whether it’s having more energy, improving gut health, managing stress, sleeping better or just getting that sense of yourself back, I’m here. to support you along the way. I am very passionate about connecting with my patients.”

Practice Director Claire Finch said: “We are delighted to welcome Louise and Vera to our team at Downham Market Complementary Health Clinic and to be able to augment therapies and treatments for our patients.
