Missing Smith County teenager found and receiving medical attention

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) – UPDATE: The Smith County Sheriff’s Office says Zachary Clark is in Jacksonville, TX. He is being treated at a local hospital and is stable.

The Smith County Sheriff’s Office is asking East Texans to be on the lookout for a teenager who ran away without his type 1 diabetes medication and isn’t prepared enough for the freezing weather expected to hit Thursday.

Zachary Clary is a listed minor runaway who fled his residence on 01/29/2022. He lives off the highway. 155 South near Lake Palestine.

Zachary is a type 1 diabetic and left the residence without his medication/insulin, which he must take daily. Zachary does not have a cell phone and has no friends in the area that the parents know of. Zachary’s family said he was known to stay in the woods, making a fire to stay warm. He ran away in the past and was in the Cuney area near Lake Palestine.

Zachary was last seen wearing a black and gray hoodie and dark colored jeans. He wears a medical alert necklace with his name on it as he has diabetes. Due to his medical issues and freezing temperatures ahead, Zachary’s whereabouts are of the utmost importance.
