Prudential launches digital health insurance to make medical treatment more accessible to Cambodians

Prudential instantly issues affordable, customizable hospitalization policies through Pulse, its health and wealth management app.

Out-of-pocket medical expenses in Cambodia reached $856 million in 2018, reflecting the financial stress Cambodian households face due to unforeseen health and medical conditions. Prudential, the largest life insurer in Cambodia, has launched the PRU ការពារប្រចាំថ្ងៃ package to make healthcare and financial security more accessible and affordable for more people in Cambodia.

PRU ការពារប្រចាំថ្ងៃ is the latest in a series of digital insurance packages launched by the insurer to provide consumers with a simplified end-to-end digital customer experience, offering protection against unexpected financial shocks and access to a timely medical treatment. Customers can purchase, manage and submit claims through the Pulse by Prudential app, with the policy issued instantly upon successful application and payment, all at their fingertips.

This customizable digital insurance solution is designed with customer demand for convenience and affordability in mind. Available in four affordable packages, customers can select and get immediate protection for as little as $9.90 per year.

“We have pioneered digital insurance to make insurance more affordable and convenient for Cambodian customers. We are seeing rapid adoption of these packages among young customers and receiving positive feedback from them as these packages enable them to better plan and protect their family’s finances,” said Mr. Sanjay Chakrabarty, Managing Director of Prudential Cambodia.

PRUការពារប្រចាំថ្ងៃ or package can be purchased on PRUShopee in Pulse app. Once the form is completed and payment made, the policy is issued immediately. Launched in 2020, Pulse is a health and wealth management app and the first of its kind in the region to offer holistic health and wealth management to consumers. It is available in Khmer and English for free download on App Store and Google Play. Users can easily register with their phone numbers.
